Who is implementing the Greek pilot?

UMHRI was founded in 1989. Its main goal is to conduct and promote research in the main axes of the field of Mental Health (biological, psychological, social) at National, European and International level and the cooperation with bodies of similar activity at home and abroad. Furthermore, UMHRI has units related to the training of mental health professionals and caregivers, as well as the mentally ill, with the aim of providing specialised knowledge in individual areas of mental health. Examples include the Vocational Training Center and the Specialized Center for Social and Professional Integration of the Disabled, certified by the National Certification Body of the Ministry of Employment. Finally, UMHRI provides health services including the operation of special units for the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric diseases as well as rehabilitation structures.

Where is it being implemented?

The pilot sites involved in the CO-CAPTAIN project include the Mental Health Center, the Day Hospital, and the Rehabilitation and Vocational Reintegration Centre. These centres play a key role in implementing and adapting the Patient Navigation model to support individuals with mental health conditions in accessing primary cancer prevention services.

Local adaptations and actions carried out so far

All questionnaires and implementation guidelines have been translated into Greek to ensure accessibility and cultural relevance. The Patient Navigation process is being delivered by trained professionals — either a psychologist or a social worker — who provide personalised support to individuals throughout their cancer prevention journey.
